Dive Sites

Words do very little to describe the beauty of our SCUBA diving sites. Here are a few to get you pointed in the right direction and all these can be included in your average dive week!

Paso del Cedral - it's famous for green and spotted eels and caves full of "Glassy Sweepers"

Punta Sur - it's the infamous "Devil's Throat" that leads to a spectacular 120 foot drop off.

Palancar - Horseshoe? 80' pillars of coral formations to swim through.

Palancar Caves - Yes, fabulous cave diving!

Santa Rosa Wall - Wow ! Great caves, beautiful wall, giant grouper and a 3,000' drop-off.

Chankanaab - Bolones - "and you have a great chance of seeing the beautiful Eagle Rays."

Maracaibo - This is virgin reef and as beautiful as it gets, however, it is for advance divers only!

The Divemasters

We are a professional family owned dive business with more than 30 years dive experience on Cozumel's Reefs with a clean record of not one single accident during this long period of time. We at Aquatic Sports are committed not only to give you the best and safest diving experience at Cozumel's reefs, but to make permanent and friendly relationships with our guests.

Sergio Sandoval Vizcaino, is the owner and full time executive "DM" at Aquatic Sports / Deportes Acuáticos Cozumel. Sergio was born in Sayula, Jalisco and raised along the shores of Manzanillo harbor free diving with the oyster fishermen. In 1967 Sergio received his degree in Mechanical Engineering and spent more than 17 years as a mechanical engineer in the automotive industry.

During this period Sergio received his certification as a diver from AMAS [Mexican Association of Sub-aquatic Activities]. Sergio Sandoval is one of the founders of FEMAS [Federation Mexican Activities Sub-aquatic] and has the certificate # 034 from this prestigious organization. It is associated with CMAS [Confederation World Activities Sub-aquatic] the pioneering dive association in Europe founded by J. Cousteau. Sergio is a NAUI certified Dive Master with a 28 year record of 100% safety… Aquatic Sports/ Deportes Acuaticos Cozumel is a NAUI certified school and dive operator.

Sergio speaks fluently with his dive guests in Spanish, English, French or German…!
